Company

We chose Elixir to build this because of the speed and reliability of the language, but also because the web focused ecosystem is very mature. We are using Phoenix Liveview to build the app, which is incredibly nice. We haven't had to even think about Javascript, although the app is a fully live instant messaging environment. Also, when developing, the purely functional approach means that stack traces are easy to use, so debugging is mostly a case of fixing the data structure wherever the problem is. All in all this is a great development experience. We will be using this technology more going forward.
